POSITION SNAPSHOT: The Manufacturing Manager role with our client is a hands-on leadership position responsible for driving production performance, operational excellence, workforce development, quality compliance, and continuous improvement within a precision manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will oversee daily manufacturing operations, manage production schedules, improve key performance indicators such as on-time delivery, productivity, quality, and safety, and partner closely with planning, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure customer commitments are met. This role requires a leader who can balance strategic decision-making with a strong presence on the production floor while fostering accountability, engagement, and a culture of operational excellence.
A critical factor for success in this position is prior experience as a CNC Programmer. Candidates who have progressed from CNC programming into leadership roles often possess a deeper understanding of machining processes, tooling strategies, setup reduction, cycle-time optimization, machine utilization, and manufacturability considerations. This technical foundation enables the Manufacturing Manager to make informed decisions that improve throughput, reduce scrap, support quality initiatives, and effectively mentor machinists, programmers, and supervisors. The ability to understand and challenge machining processes at a technical level also strengthens communication between engineering and production, resulting in more efficient and profitable operations.
Beyond technical expertise, the ideal candidate will demonstrate proven leadership of manufacturing teams, experience implementing Lean and continuous improvement initiatives, and the business acumen necessary to drive profitability and long-term growth. Our client is seeking a leader who can translate technical manufacturing knowledge into operational results, develop high-performing teams, and create scalable processes that support customer satisfaction and business objectives. Candidates whose backgrounds combine CNC programming, manufacturing leadership, quality systems, and operational improvement will be particularly well-positioned to succeed in this role.
