POSITION SNAPSHOT:
Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager – UAV / UAS to drive revenue growth and expand market share within the rapidly growing unmanned aircraft systems (UAV / UAS), drone, robotics, and autonomous systems sectors. This fully remote position (with significant travel and a preference for candidates located on the West Coast) serves as the primary commercial lead responsible for identifying, qualifying, and securing new business opportunities across commercial, defense, aerospace, and government markets. The role partners closely with engineering, operations, program management, marketing, and executive leadership teams to position the company’s advanced manufacturing capabilities, including additive manufacturing, precision machining, engineering, and production services, as preferred solutions for next-generation autonomous technologies.

The successful candidate will develop and execute business development strategies, build executive-level relationships with OEMs, defense contractors, government agencies, and strategic partners, and lead customer engagements from opportunity identification through contract award. Responsibilities include managing a robust sales pipeline, developing capture strategies, overseeing proposal development and negotiations, monitoring market and regulatory trends, and representing the company at industry events and trade shows. The position requires balancing long-term market development with immediate sales opportunities to achieve sustainable bookings, revenue growth, and profitability.

Qualified candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Aviation, Aerospace, or a related field, along with at least five years of business development, sales, or capture management experience within aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, robotics, or related industries. Strong knowledge of autonomous systems, aerospace manufacturing, government contracting, and complex technical sales is highly desirable. Experience with additive manufacturing, precision machining, ITAR compliance, and defense acquisition processes is preferred.

The role requires approximately 35-50% travel, strong leadership and relationship-building skills, and U.S. person status due to ITAR regulations.
